What we do

 The journey began with their shared passion for community building and highlighting the good in Rochester. Amy, Melena, and Dillon met while working as volunteers in the Rochester Area. They quickly realized that their shared vision for creating a better community aligned perfectly, and they decided to join forces.
Together, they began organizing community events, such as food drives, clothing swaps, and resource fairs. They worked tirelessly to ensure that these events were accessible to everyone in the community, regardless of their socioeconomic status.
Their efforts soon gained traction, and they were able are currently looking to secure funding to operate the Willand Warming Center for the 2023-24 Winter Season. This center provided a safe and welcoming space for over 300 unhoused to come together, build relationships, and access resources they may not have had otherwise.
Over the years, Amy, Melena, and Dillon continued to work diligently to improve their community.  

With rising housing costs and limited resources in the Tri-City area, many good people face dire challenges. While some short-term solutions exist, the need for supportive housing and outreach to encampments is urgent. The removal of individuals from tents leads to environmental issues, over-reliance on police, and re-traumatization of the most vulnerable.

In New Hampshire, which ranks poorly for homeless services, people often ask, “Where do we go?” when told they can’t stay in certain areas, but there are no answers. We must step in where officials have fallen short. It’s essential to create sustainable solutions that provide safe, accessible housing and effective outreach. Together, we can advocate for change and improve support for those experiencing homelessness in our community.

Housing is a fundamental human right that is increasingly denied to many due to rising costs and systemic inequities. Advocacy must focus on policy reforms that promote affordable supportive housing and protect vulnerable populations from eviction and discrimination. Engaging with communities to raise awareness about housing issues is essential to this effort.

By prioritizing these initiatives, we can help create a society where safe and stable housing is accessible to all, recognizing that it is crucial for dignity, health, and overall well-being
